mwbamwbqOrcaella (mwbgGray, 1866)cite-ref-1[1] è un mwcwgenere di mwdaCetacei mwdqOdontoceti della mwdgfamiglia mwdwDelphinidae.

Tassonomia

Per lungo tempo l'unica specie nota è stata l'orcella asiatica (mwewmwfaOrcaella brevirostris). Nel 2005 analisi genetiche hanno mostrato che l'orcella australiana (mwfqmwfgOrcaella heinsohni) è una seconda specie strettamente imparentata con mwfwO. brevirostris. Recenti analisi mwgamolecolari indicano inoltre che il genere mwgqOrcaella è strettamente imparentato con le orche del genere mwggmwgwOrcinus, formando così con essa la mwhasottofamiglia mwhqOrcininae.
